Obedient to her captain's will, The Black Pearl followed her dark angel over the azure water; as fast as the wind, as free as the men who sailed her. it was almost as though she knew she was a legend in the making, destined for adventures both great and terrible... A.C. Crispin
About This Quote

This quote is really quite remarkable. "The Black Pearl" is one of the most famous pirate ships in all of history. Captain Jack Sparrow's ship was built for speed. It was built with the idea that the ship will have to be able to outrun any other ship on the seas--even its own captain.

Of course, this works really well if your captain is also a pirate, but it doesn't work so well when your captain is an honest man who wants to stay out of trouble. Eventually, after sailing around for a while, you are bound to get caught.
